I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the world of design at High Point Market (HPMKT) Fall ’23 in North Carolina, USA. The best way to describe it is an annual design conference where over 75,000 designers, vendors, and manufacturers meet and collaborate. Imagine a fashion week for interiors, but on an even grander scale, with 11,500,000 sq. ft. of showroom space. Designers are introduced to new products while manufacturers and vendors gather feedback on industry needs.
As an interior designer, High Point is a must-attend event for me. It’s where I discover the latest trends, source exceptional pieces for my clients, and connect with industry leaders. From furniture and lighting to art and finishes, the market offers an unparalleled selection of products in every style and price point.

A Feast for the Senses
High Point is a sensory overload in the best possible way. This year, I was captivated by:
Innovative designs: From functional advancements to unexpected materials, the creativity was inspiring.
Unique finds: I discovered one-of-a-kind pieces fitting various interior design styles that will elevate my clients’ spaces.
Educational opportunities: Keynotes, seminars, and workshops offered fresh perspectives and insights.

Beyond the showroom floor, High Point Market is a vibrant hub of activity. Book signings, happy hours, live concerts, and networking create a dynamic atmosphere. However, one of the most critical and rewarding aspects of attending is the opportunity to experience products for interior design firsthand.
Sitting on a sofa, feeling the texture of a fabric, and assessing the quality in person is essential for making informed decisions for my clients. You just can’t get the same experience browsing through descriptions and images on online sites – so much gets lost.

The excitement at High Point is contagious. It’s a place where ideas are born, partnerships are forged, and the future of interior home design is shaped. I left High Point Market feeling energized. The new products and connections I made will undoubtedly elevate my upcoming projects.
I encourage every designer to experience the magic of High Point at least once every three years. Check out the dates for upcoming markets. You can also listen to an insider’s guide to High Point Market podcast featuring High Point President and CEO, Tammy Covington Nagem.
