We’re thrilled to share that for the second year in a row, Design & Elevate has been recognized by the National Kitchen & Bath Association in Puget Sound. Our “Woodland Serenity” Powder Room has won the 2025 NKBA Puget Sound Design Award in the Powder Room category—an honor that celebrates design excellence, innovation, and craftsmanship. This consecutive win is a meaningful testament to the creativity, detail, and vision behind our work.

Led by our Principal Designer Shefali Thomas, every space is an invitation to experience harmony between architecture and emotion. In this Seattle-area home, the transformation of Woodland Serenity brings together natural textures, timeless detailing, and modern luxury—while preserving the rustic character that gives the home its soul. “We wanted the powder room to feel like a discovery—an unexpected moment of warmth, texture, and intention,” says Shefali.
Powder Room: Organic Beauty and Modern Luxury
Rooted in nature and layered with quiet luxury, the powder room’s design builds on the home’s terracotta flooring with Fireclay wall tiles in a leaf-inspired pattern. The satin finish adds a soft shimmer that plays beautifully against the earth tones below.
A floating vanity, designed to resemble a hand-carved heirloom, becomes the room’s sculptural centerpiece. Paired with two-tone matte black and champagne gold fixtures, the space finds its balance between rustic grounding and elevated form.

Powder Room: Mood Board
The bathroom makeover showcases several new products: a geometric backsplash tile creates a bold focal point, while a wood vanity with a white countertop and an undermount sink adds warmth and functionality. A brass faucet and matching towel holder elevate the design, complemented by a modern matte black framed mirror and updated lighting. Decorative greenery and accessories complete the fresh, contemporary look.

Before and After: A Space Reimagined
The original bathroom featured a simple, builder-grade look. The walls were painted a muted beige, and the fixtures—sink, toilet, and mirror were all conventional. A pedestal sink, plain round mirror with a wooden frame, standard chrome faucet, and traditional light fixture - the overall mood was functional but lacked personality or visual interest.

Embracing Tradition in a Contemporary Frame
Each room in Woodland Serenity reflects a thoughtful dialogue between tradition and innovation. By merging earthy textures with tailored elements, we created more than just a beautiful home. It’s a space that feels authentic, warm, and distinctly personal. As Shefali puts it, “Good design honors the architecture, enhances the everyday, and creates a home that feels timeless yet completely personal.”
