The Creative Vision
When the owners of this new home in Redmond, Seattle sought to add color and glamor to their all-white space, they turned to Design & Elevate for a bold, modern transformation. The goal was to create a cohesive design language throughout the house while maintaining functionality for large gatherings and ensuring the space remained kid-friendly.
Making a Statement: The TV Storage Wall
Objectives:
Establish a Strong Color Palette: Create a cohesive design language with a bold color palette that enhances the home’s modern aesthetic.
Maintain Open Floor Plan: Ensure the layout remains functional for large gatherings and kid-friendly.
Transform TV Storage Wall: Update the dated TV storage wall with a deep bookshelf to become a standout design feature.
Challenges:
Budget Constraints: Limited budget prevented a complete remodel of the TV wall with the bookshelf
Deep Bookshelf: The depth of the bookshelf made it challenging to make accessories pop.
Seating for Large Groups: Needed seating solutions that could accommodate large groups without crowding the room.
Solutions:
Bold Bookshelf Statement: Painted the bookshelf a deep green and filled the TV nook with a decorative chest.
Textured Wallcovering: Added a textured metallic wall covering behind the bookshelf for a dual-toned effect, brightening the bookcase without additional lighting, within the budget.
Flexible Seating: Incorporated curved sectionals on either side for modern form and group seating flexibility, paired with a glass coffee table to keep the room more open.

Deep Green Bookshelf: Contrasting with white walls and carpeted floor, creating a striking focal point.
Metallic Wallcovering: Adds texture and a dimensional backdrop to the bookshelf, enhancing the decorative items.
Decorative Wall Sconces: Placed on either side of the bookshelf, adding a touch of charm and layered lighting.
Gold Metallic Chest: Adds a pop of glamor and texture in the old TV nook with its unique design.
Transforming the Entire Home
Dining Room and Formal Living Areas
The open, white spaces of the dining room and formal living areas were transformed with bold pops of color and metallic accents. Custom furniture and art pieces, sourced globally from Europe and Indonesia, were carefully selected for their quality and attention to detail, making it a conversation piece.
Sculptural elements, such as a pierced metal side table and a sculptural dining table base, added to the luxurious, modern aesthetic. Even the sofa has a carved wooden floral pattern embedded within the upholstered back. Every fabric, finish, and detail, was meticulously chosen to integrate the client’s love for modern aesthetics with the grand architecture of this beautiful estate home.
Master Bedroom Makeover
The master bedroom presented three main challenges – low windows, the dated TV nook over the fireplace, and a soaking tub on the carpeted floor. How we approached this:
Window Wall: Layered drapery with cutwork and metallic accents framed the wall, adding uniform texture.
Fireplace Wall: The TV nook was covered with metallic glazed tiles, transforming it into a feature wall with custom wall art and an inviting reading corner with sculptural chairs and soft lighting.
Flooring: Replaced the carpet with hardwood, creating a rich backdrop with white oak-stained walnut. Deep navy velvet wallcovering behind the custom leather and gold grid bed created a bold focal point, complemented by soft textured wallcoverings on the other walls.
Feature Wall: Gold-painted dimensional wood panels were added at the entrance of the main suite, creating a striking introduction to the luxurious space.
