Evergreen Elegance
The Creative Vision
The owners envisioned a transformation of their basement – turning their storage of memorabilia and travel art and the guest bedroom into a vibrant entertainment space and guest suite. A self-sufficient kitchen was essential for their guests, also serving as a wet bar for game days and a functional area for holiday gatherings.

Crafting the Perfect Wet Bar
Objectives:
Wet Bar Aesthetic: Create a wet bar look that hides kitchen elements.
Hosting Needs: Incorporate an additional fridge and oven for holidays.
Self-Sufficient Design: Ensure the kitchen complements the main kitchen.
Challenges:
Concealing Appliances: Hide appliances to avoid a traditional kitchen appearance.
Lighting Design: Create effective lighting to highlight the wet bar.
Maximizing Storage: Provide sufficient storage without looking like a kitchen.
Plumbing Location: Minimize plumbing costs and enhance spatial flow.
Moisture Issues: Address moisture retention on carpet floors.

Solutions:
Panel-Ready Appliances: Utilize specific appliances to hide the fridge.
Glass Cabinets: Implement glass cabinets with spotlights for displays.
Open Shelving: Design decorative and functional open shelving – display pieces and kitchen utensils.
Strategic Placement: Position the wet bar as a focal design element right across the entrance, and behind the bathroom for easy plumbing access.
LVP Flooring: Install walnut-colored LVP flooring for warmth, texture, and moisture control.

Special features:
Integrated Refrigerator: Panel-ready refrigerator and freezer blend into design.
Hidden Outlets: Conceal electrical outlets under upper cabinets.
Butcher Block Counter: Varying shades of walnut complement green cabinetry and flooring.
Textured Backsplash: Three-dimensional black tile provides the perfect backdrop for the walnut open shelves with the decorative gold brackets.
Bold Sink: Black undermount sink paired with gold faucet and cabinet pulls.
Wall Sconces: Decorative sconces highlight objects and provide ambient lighting on the work surface.

Enhancing the Entire Space
Media Console and Memorabilia Display
On the opposite side of the room, a built-in media console offers ample storage for books, while floating walnut shelves showcase the owners’ cherished travel memorabilia collected over the years. The brass brackets provide stylish support, beautifully complementing the accent wall.
A textured stacked natural stone backdrop enhances the TV wall, with spotlights grazing it to accentuate the natural stone’s glimmering elements. The retention of the original green sofa from the client’s childhood home added a personal touch to the overall design.

Bathroom Facelift
The bathroom received a refreshing update with a new vanity, mirror, light fixtures, and flooring. Extending the LVP flooring from the hallway into the bathroom creates a sense of spaciousness. Thoughtfully chosen accessories like wall art and rugs infuse the space with color and pattern.

Guest Bedroom Retreat
The bedroom transformation features soft green walls and floor-to-ceiling textured window treatments that create an illusion of height. The original bed from the client’s childhood, filled with memories, anchors the room, while new rugs, bedding, and wall art contribute to a cozy and welcoming atmosphere for guests. It feels like a lovely getaway within the home.
